I am licensed mental health counselor with a specialization in Cognitive-Behavior Therapy. I earned my Masters degree in Clinical Counseling in 2010 from Assumption College. In 2013, I established my private practice at an office in Worcester, and made the transition to Whitinsville in March 2020. Additionally, I am certified as a clinical supervisor for LMHC interns and post-graduates.
I am also licensed through the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education as a School Adjustment Counselor, and have over a decade of experience working in both public and private education settings as a program coordinator and clinican for therapeutic programs. I have a background in PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support) and integrate evidence-based behavioral interventions with social emotional learning to promote the most optimal outcome for youth with disability. I believe supporting the youth's environment is just as important as direct treatment for the youth.
Prior to earning my credentials as a therapist, I worked in the education field for over 2 decades as a teacher. I am a United States Coast Guard veteran, and graduated from the University of Massachusetts Boston in 1996 with degrees in English and Biology.
I love helping others and though I am a therapist by title, I find I am still teaching, educating, nurturing and fostering growth in others.
I strive to provide an holistic, person-centered therapeutic experience for the individual with a treatment modality that best suits your goals, needs and preference while ensuring a judgement-free, supportive and safe therapeutic environment. I believe you are the expert on you, and that our professional relationship is a partnership.
My goal is to provide therapeutic services that increase your confidence to deal with life's stressors and demands of today's increasingly difficult challenges, increase your sense of empowerment, improve your ability to cope with uncomfortable emotions and thought processes and help you improve your overall quality of life.
